Summary of the course
Often periodontal and/or endodontic diseases can develop combined lesions. This course is designed to enhance the knowledge to relates to accurately diagnose and effectively treat cases with combined (periodontal - endodontic / endodontic – periodontal) diseases.
Aims
To update on the diagnosis and managements of Periodontal – Endodontic lesions.
Objectives
· EFP and BSP latest classification of endo - perio lesions (2017).
· Diagnosis of endo-perio / perio-endo affected teeth and their challenges. Address the related problems, what comes first?
· Clinicians’ priorities. How an affected tooth could be treated?
· Possibility of how endodontic lesions develop to periodontal lesions and vice-versa? Pathogenesis.
· Periodontal treatment following their endodontic treatment.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session, you will understand:
New Periodontal classification and its relation to endo-perio / perio-endo lesions.
How combined lesions can progress.
Treatment challenges and priorities.
Multidisciplinary approach to treatment.
Communication with the patient and documentation.

Dr Ioanna Anastasiadou
DDS, DClinDent-Periodontology QMUL (GDC Reg No:158740)
Ioanna qualified from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Over a decade of clinical work in the UK took her to care for private and mixed practices in London and Sussex. During this time, she furthered her clinical and diagnostic skills with an intensive 3-year speciality course trainingin Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in Periodontology, at the Queen Mary University of London (UMUL), which also included Implantology.
Ioanna provides non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, bone and gingival regeneration, aesthetic cases - periodontal plastic surgery, and dental implant- periimplantitis.
