Course summary
The building block of clinical management should be based on scientific research. The sequalae teeth after traumatic injury and their management seem to be a mystery to some dentists. This webinar will unravel this mystery by presenting the response of pulpal cells to external stimuli in order to understand the different outcomes and the principals on managing teeth after traumatic injury. 1.5h Online CPD Course (In English)
Aims
To present the understanding of pulpal response after traumatic dental injury and outline the principals of their management

· To present the anatomy and basic functions of pulpal cells
· To present the probable responses of pulpal cells after traumatic injury
· To present the sequalae of teeth after injury in relation to the pulpal response
· To outline the principals of management of traumatised teeth in relation to pulpal cells

Speaker
Professor Ferranti Wong is Professor / Honorary Consultant and head of Paediatric Dentistry at the Barts and The London School SMD, Queen Maty University of London. He is also a council member and chair of SAB (Paed Dent) of FDS, RCSEd. He was interim Dean and Director of the dental institute and associated dental dean of the London Deanery. He is fully engaged in dental education and speciality training, being course director of DClinDent programme, examiners of MPaedDent and ISFE, and external examiner in other universities for both UG and PG programmes. His research interests include caries prevention, de- and re-mineralisation with novel biomaterials, and clinical management. He has obtained grants for clinical trials from NIHR. Professor Wong’s clinical interests are management of MIH, hypodontia, dental trauma and developmental anomalies. He has an international reputation and has been invited as keynote speakers in many conferences.
